Ohio Auto Insurance Attorney

The state of Ohio requires automobile drivers to purchase bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage. At a minimum, the driver must have bodily injury liability coverage of at least $12,500 per person injured in any one accident and $25,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident. Additionally, the driver must have a minimum of $7,500 property damage liability coverage for the destruction of the property of others as a result of an automobile accident. This is often represented as 12.5/25/7.5 coverage.

Automobile drivers have the option of purchasing uninsured motorist or underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. This type of insurance is meant to cover bodily injuries caused by an uninsured or underinsured driver. Ohio does not have any laws mandating the amounts of uninsured or underinsured coverage to be purchased.
