Vermont Auto Insurance Attorney
The state of Vermont requires automobile drivers to purchase bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage. At a minimum, the driver must have bodily injury liability coverage of at least $25,000 per person injured in any one accident and $50,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident. Additionally, the driver must have a minimum of $10,000 property damage liability coverage for the destruction of the property of others as a result of an automobile accident. This is often represented as 25/50/10 coverage.
Automobile drivers must purchase uninsured motorist/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. This type of insurance is meant to cover bodily injuries caused by an uninsured/underinsured driver. At a minimum, the driver must have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage of at least $50,000 per person injured in any one accident and $100,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident caused by an uninsured/underinsured motorist. Property damage coverage of $10,000 is required to cover damages caused by an uninsured/underinsured motorist.
